Hello!

“Hi I have a question gorgeous you, I’m just wondering how many mums who have had epidurals experience back pain after it. I had my second child two months ago and the pain is near on unbearable. Has anyone else experienced this and what do they suggest for pain? Thanks in advance”

  • That sounds like something is badly wrong. Have you talked to your doctor?

  • Oh yes, i think it is normal!

  • Best bet is to consult your doctor, epidurals have come a long way but are still not an exact science, nerves can be damaged

  • Because of my back issues I was not allowed to have an epidural, I was also told they were risky and you could end up paralysed. That is what my doctor told me, so I didn’t have one with my first child and there was no time for pain relief with my second.

  • I did for a little while but it go away.

  • Some do and some don’t experience back pain after it, I wonder if it was done well enough in the first place.

  • How did you go? Did you see a doctor about it?

  • I would be seeing a dr for this as I didn’t have any pain and mine broke off then they did a Spinal block which didn’t work so ga last used

  • Yes with my first it was terrible, lasted over 12 months, I used panadol but you couldn’t even touch that spot on my back and even now it gives me a horrible feeling. Believe it or not I tried Bowen Therapy and after 18 months of not being able to walk far or bend down easily I walked out of the room and bent down to pat the cat and wow. I still have trouble standing for long periods of time especially in the same spot but it is manageable.

  • I hope you found the answers you were looking for. Could be a good idea to talk to your doctor too

  • How are you going now :)

  • what was the outcome Hope everything went well for you

  • I had no problems after epidural. Sorry to hear u hv

  • I had one for my first 2 babies and I had no pain. See your doctor.

  • I haven’t had an epi but from those around me who have I know that a lot of them complain about this for months afterwards. but check with your gp about it just to make sure it isn’t anything more sinister
