Hello!

Has anyone experienced spotting during pregnancy? I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and had bleeding for a few hours, the doctor says everything is fine and it’s just spotting but I would love to hear how common it is from other Mums – if it’s common at all?

  • Yes I spotted a little in my third pregnancy and everything was fine.

  • If it is just spotting then its f9 but if its heavy bleeding then consult ur GO

  • I had bleeding with both pregnancies & went to my GP for advice only to be told it is quite common, it is only if it gets heavier that you should be concerned. I was unlucky to have heavier bleeding early in my first pregnancy & the doctor thought I was miscarrying but thankfully it did not eventuate. My 2nd pregnancy gave us a big scare with bleeding & cramps in my 4 month & the doctor thinks I may have lost a twin. She reviewed my history & thinks I may have had twins to start with in both pregnancies & lost one each time but I was still lucky to have had a healthy child each time. My sister did not know she was pregnant until 5 months when she started to put on weight & had nausea so the GP did a test.
Your best choice is to talk to a Doctor about it.

  • I had very small rare spotting but I know of other mums who have had it worse. But everything has always turned out well. Hope it does for you too.

  • I did at the beginning, but nothing since the 12 week mark

  • Some women will still get their monthly periods while pregnant however it is always best to get it looked into.

  • best 2 get that 1 checked .

  • spotting during pregnancy is fairly normal not usually anything to worry about, it when you are actually’bleeding is when you need to worry I have had five kids and had spotting with all of them due to stress on cervix especially as you get bigger

  • Yes, although I was concerned it was nothing serious enough to go to my doctor.

  • I didn’t – but hope you received the advice you needed.

  • My friend had her 6th child this year, none of her pregnancies experienced this except this last one, her doctor assured her everything was fine-and sure enough it was, she now has a healthy 6 month old boy.

  • It is common and I had it during my pregnancies but if it starts to get heavy go to the hospital

  • Rach has lots of information there, hoping all turned out ok.

  • I didn’t experience spotting but I know people who have and have gone on to have normal pregnancies and healthy babies. I hope it all went well for you.

  • That concerned me too as I had it. But it’s all good
