  • Yes I have. I use a traction device which has prevented operation all together. It’s called a Ctrac, like this

  • I’d go get some scans so it doesn’t get worse and require surgery

  • I have had carpal tunnel surgery done on both hands now and can’t believe the difference, when my hands were sore beforehand I didn’t realise how bad the were. Now since the surgery which is a bit uncomfortable I have had no problems what so ever, don’t leave it too long to get it checked as the sooner the better. Wrist splints from the physio dept at the hospital helped to relieve the pain until the surgery. Thinking mine was from using the computer mouse were my thoughts but the doc says could be caused from numerous different reasons. Hang in there but don’t suffer too long as help is at hand so easy nowdays.

  • my friend has it and has to have regular checkups and says it is quite painful. sometimes has no movement in her hand. hope it gets better for you soon

  • I suffered carpal tunnel with my first pregnancy. If you are still experiencing it after having had a baby it could be still related to that, however, mine when away almost instantly after birth. It did still take a few weeks for the swelling in my fingers to go down though.

  • I’ve had carpel tunnel in both wrists but not related to or developed in pregnancy. But I do believe in some cases pregnancy and cause the condition to develop – so,etching to do with extra fluid, vascular constriction I think. In my case it was after my babies were born and the caring of them (twins!) that it developed. I ended up having surgery which was really quite simple and quick. Other suggestions before that are to rest the wrist as much as possible, and use a carpel tunnel wrist splint at nighttime. These are found in just about all chemists and are relatively cheap. If worn overnight, they give relief the next day. You can also use the splint during the day when the pain flares up. But I suggest get a referral form your GP to see a specialist. Good luck and let us know how you go.

  • I had it some years ago. No relation with pregnancy. My daugher was 5 years old at the time. To me it happened because I was very busy with moving. A lot of packing, unpacking and then a lot of crafts with my daughter to say goodbye to her friends at school. Probably the carpal tunnel syndrome came out exactly because I used the scissors way too much. I used a tutor for a little bit more than 2 months and then, luckily, it went away.
