  • Mum888 – being near a medical centre is an excellent suggestion.

  • Both sides of the Grandparents now is getting harder each year mainly for the women as both find it hard to walk without some sort of walking stick . I think its always good to go to a place that is not too far from a medical facility , not thinking of the worst but more about being more aware now . It is getting to a stage where they just want to remain local and its great if they can still travel now and enjoy themselves .

  • Thanks for the answers :) Would love tips for NSW places to stay.

  • My parents are in their eighties and still traveled to Africa this year. They got help at the airports to make the right connection flights and got to sit in the wheelchair (not really necessary as they walk perfectly, just not as quick anymore). You can notify the airline you would like to have some help.

  • Yes! And it was hard! Mind you, my father is in a wheelchair, so it was a lot harder than normal. They were slower than little kids. In my opinion, as much as I’d love to spend the time with them, travel without them. I’ll opt for visiting them from now on :)
