Hello!

Has anyone tried home delivered groceries? I’ve always driven and bought my groceries, but I was wondering what are the positive and negative outcomes with home delivery?

  • Nothing but positive experiences with mine. You order what you need, can get them to substitute what might not be available and you just unpack it when it arrives to your house. Any issues with quality, missing things or feedback is generally given to the company and they sort out your issue.
I never want to shop the other way again.

  • I love home delivery. Less impulse buying, it’s quicker, and someone else carries it up the stairs.

  • I have had no problems with home delivery, but still prefer to do the shopping and choosing myself.

  • I dont live in an area that does. Things to consider-you cant chose exact weights/sizes/used by dates. You may no impulse shop, can stick to a list, often get freebies.

  • The negatives outweighed the positives for me. Fridge food the use by dates were too close to expiring. And out of stock items was annoying. Either allow a substitute or go without. I didn’t ever choose substitute as too much of a gamble as to whether the substitute was what I’d like. In the end it was easier to just go shopping at a physical store.

  • The big supermarkets tend to have deals every now and then so keep your eyes open for free delivery slots. They both usually have a first delivery is free option too. I found delivery helpful trying to juggle two small kids or if it was a busy day and I didn’t have time to pick them up myself.

  • Thanks for all your opinions!

  • Yes. Worked really well, even the veggies were good. Would definitely do it again.

  • Personally I like to pick my own fruit and veg and meat but for dried goods it can save a lot of time. You can also do click and collect and then pick up the fresh stuff and all the other things have already been done for you.

  • Thanks for the comments, am going to give it a go I think!

  • I’ve used Coles, Aussie Farmers & Woolies. Same as what others are saying. Zero regrets, my sister loves click & collect cause she stays on budget but is able to dash into the store to get the ‘extra’ things you always remember at the last minute.

  • I have tried Coles, Woolies and Aussie Farmers. I have used the delivery service many many times an only once was there a problem with a missing item. I usually use Woolies because they email me great deals with the Everyday Rewards Card. I believe Coles does free delivery on Wednesdays so this is great to use if you can plan it in advance. It is such a great time saver I would definitely recommend you give it a go.

  • Such a great invention, they arrive quickly and the extra samples are great too

  • I like to go and shop at the store for the exercise and for a coffee too!

  • i have used woolworths, coles and aussie growers. i found them all to be good, i had a standing order with aussie growers, they would take out the money each week and deliver what i wanted, i could also change it when needed.
