Hello!

My almost 10 month old, ‘mr independent’ has gone on a finger only food diet since deciding that he will no longer be eating with a spoon and is a long way off being able to use one himself. Does anyone have healthy finger food ideas that I can give him for dinner?

  • Carrot chips/fingers, sweet potato chips/fingers, parsnip chips/fingers, potato chips/fingers, broccoli, zucchini slices, roma tomato, cucumber slices, raw mushrooms, cheese strips, boiled egg, avocado slices, tofu/tempeh slices, different pasta types, spring rolls, dumplings, and if you eat meat meat balls, pieces of chicken / beef

  • well you could try fish fingers, steamed dim sims, boiled carrot sticks, toast and cheese

  • Carrots sticks, make your own cruskitss by putting the main part of the bread in the oven, lanb chop bones, sa long as they cant choke, let them try all different types of food.

  • Little Miss is a little this way too – cooked pasta works well and we try to get the veggie pasta or wholemeal so that it is a little better. Veggie strips are also good (cooked).

  • sticks of cheese, cooled steamed veg, cooled cooked pasta – penne or spiral are good, avocado on toast cut into fingers, grated apple, banana fingers
