He will sit for about half an hour before he starts crying. As a result I often baby wear him. He is now already 10 months old.

  • toys and lots of them! interactive items that will keep them engaged.

  • If he has to be in a pram for a while then try the pram toys, talking to him, stopping and smelling flowers, point out birds, dogs, cars, trucks etc. Is he warm enough? He may need to feel snuggled in more. Does he have a warm pram blanket? Sitting still when out would be colder than walking and pushing the pram. Pop a beanie on his head. Putting him in a carrier is a great idea, but not always practical. Maybe he needs to feel you close. Can you give him a rusk or a cracker to eat in his pram? It won’t be forever :)

  • If he’s on the go there’s plenty for them to see, but perhaps pram toys would be great at keeping him occupied, or offer him a snack tray he can munch on

  • Why do you need him in the pram for such long times? this seems quite unusual. If you’re walking around, point out things of interest to him.

  • It depends on what you mean by long period and what’s happening around him in this time.

If your walking try chatting to him about where your going what your doing, what you see etc. Try giving him some toys. Kmart has a car themed toy that straps to the bar that goes across prams so he will have like a car dashboard to play with. It has keys, steering wheel, noises and more.

My daughter loves eating biscuits and stuff in the pram. I normally wait until she starts getting fidgety and it helps her last longer.

Its normal for kids to start wanting to be out of the pram more too as they get more mobile.

Also if your walking try facing him the opposite way to what he currently is. If he faces forward try swapping him to face you and if he faces you face him away so he can see so much more
