  • Dry shampoos might help to reduce the look of oily hair.

  • My girlfriend had the same problem and would put talc in her hair! I don’t think that’s the solution though! uUsing products for oily hair would be my choice.

  • Okay so I have not tried this first hand, I am fortunate not to suffer from this… But my sister has her whole life. She had to wash her hair everyday and by about halfway through the day it was oily again.

Only yesterday she told me that she uses a hair mask by Arbonne and she only has to wash it every 3 days… So to go from every day to three days I would definately say give this a try!!

Goodluck and I’m sorry that you suffer from this.

  • DO you think it could be a medical issue? Glands that produce too much sebum can cause oily hair and you can take a vitmain-A related product to help regulate it; so see GP. And avoid hair products with proteins/oils that may only make it worse.

  • Don’t wash it everyday. At first you will need to put up with it being oily an extra day but eventually it will get used to it and stay less oily for longer.

  • Maybe go into a hair salon and ask them for advice – they may have a solution.

  • Use a dry shampoo brush it through hair, oil gone and lot more thickness the day to carry on

  • i would use a clarifying shampoo then find a specifically for oily hair shampoo and conditioner, try to cut back on the washing every day to reduce the amount of natural oil production, then use a good dry shampoo on the inbetween days, use it before bed so the powder has time to work, then just style in the morning

  • Look for a shampoo that is specifically for oily hair. One may have to experiment with different brands to find the most ideal one. Alternatively, your hairdresser can recommend the best type. Hair shampoos with higher PH (alkaline) are a great option. Clarifying shampoos are advisable as they reduce buildup of oil, but should be used only once each month.
