Hello!

Should I be helping 9 month old to walk? It’s hard on my back and I want her to learn independence.

  • you could always get some of those toys that encourage walking like prams, those convertible bikes (we have a dinosaur that they can walk behind then clip the back together to make a bike seat), or just lt bub walk around the furniture

  • Your baby needs to build their leg muscles before they can support themselves. If you can’t do it (bend over) then find an alternative – jolly jumper or walker.

  • Create a little obstacle with chairs for her to move around & gradually increase the distance between chairs as she gets stronger. She will be independent soon enough, just encourage her gently & one day she may just take off

  • Try letting her cruise along furniture or if they has one of these little trolley or activity walkers that she can push around that will help her quite a bit.
