Hello!

I no good with looking after plants so i brought a Zanzibar gem because they “thrive on neglect”.
I have managed to keep this plant alive for some years until it started getting too big for its pot. Its since re potting it that its not growing as nice as before. It just looks sad and only has two or three shoots growing :( HELP

  • I think if its near a window and getting direct morning sun try putting it where its not getting direct sunlight and see how it goes.

  • Wow, using my hair from my hairbrush to nourish pot plants! Never heard of that one but will certainly be trying it with my cyclamen. Since repotting it hasn’t flowered, beforehand it had lots of flowers regularly

  • Possibly repot and possibly get some advice from a nursery too.

  • Maybe apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser once a month when watering. Also, only water when fully dry.

  • Repot into larger planter and bury in the potting mix your hair from your brush provides nitrogen to the soil and boil egg shells in water and cool and put this on your plant provides calcium. This will help your plant grow healthier.
