Hello!

They were finger painting at playgroup and used green food colouring and water to paint. It has now stained her hands. My husband says solvol soap will work. Is this ok?

  • I agree, it will just wear off in some days, in the mean time just wash with soap.

  • Actually I think you might just have to wait a few days till it wears off with repeated washing. I’m not sure anything will get it off sooner.

  • It’s only food colouring, it will eventually wear off. Stress less mum! X

  • Yes, it’s worth a try.

  • Its a old fashion soap but works very well to get stains off the hand.. My dad use to use it when hw was a mechanic everyday.. and mums use to get us to use it on the odd occasion when we stained our hands etc..

  • I find it comes off with regular soap and water although it takes a few goes. When cooking I sometimes stain my fingers with food colouring and washing up liquid must also do the same thing because by the time I’ve finished washing the dishes, the pots and pans then the dessert washing up I also find that the stains have gone. If the problem persists maybe ask the playgroup for suggestions (and see if it is the best thing to be using with kids if it presents a problem for lots)

  • Try nail polish remover
