Hello!

I clean the shower at least once a week and wipe the glass more often but it is a real problem trying to make it look clean!

  • Dry the glass door after every shower
I have good experience with cleaning it with vinegar

  • I chamois the shower every day this reduces the water marking amazingly and reduces mould I am using Koh universal cleaner now and it’s fantastic

  • I believe vinegar removes soap scum.

  • I would wipe the walls down with methylated spirits.

  • What timing this question is. I have a house inspection by my real estate agent tomorrow, and I have been trying and trying to get those milky marks off the shower screen. Thanks heaps for the tips ladies! :)

  • My shower screen is also very old (30+ years) and there are terrible milky stains. I can’t get rid of them either. I think they’re there to stay. It’s good motivation to save, save, save to get a bathroom reno!

  • My shower screen would have to be 30+ years old and has those milky marks which I assumed were old soap scum marks. I can’t remove them at all. It sucks.

  • It’s probably not actually glass but hardened plastic. Once the surface is damaged (many cleaning products will damage it) you can’t fix it.

  • I use a ‘chamois’ like cloth and dry the water off the glass after each shower…. that’s a bit of a pain but it does keep the glass looking shiny.

  • Easy off bam!! And elbow grease!!

  • Try a steam cleaner to make sure all scum is off. Also try cleaning with vinegar and newspaper instead of shower or glass cleaner.

  • I use my norwex scrub cloth.
Otherwise if it’s really bad try sugar soap & a razor blade, get yourself a good blade in a holder from bunnings or where ever you shop. Gently scrape backwards with the blade so it doesn’t scratch the glass.

  • This cannot be prevented as moisture gets inside the glass surface and the layer of laminate!

  • Apparently this happens with laminated glass ! So I have just put little butterfly stickers on the affected parts! It looks ok actually.

  • yeah in our rental, there are stains like this but somehow they seem to be in the glass and the real estate knows that this is an issue before we moved in.
