Hello!

I have a beautiful diamond ring, how do I get it looking like new again? Any easy home methods would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Soak your jewelry in a mixture of 1/2 cup white vinegar and 2 tablespoons baking soda for two to three hours. Rinse them under cold water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth

  • You can google a coke soak or take to your local jewler

  • You can buy special wipes, I think. Or my jeweller is willing to clean my rings once a year or so free of charge.

  • I use regular dishwashing liquid to clean my jewellery and it seems to work.

  • If it’s a diamond or stone ring I recommend taking it to jewellers because you dnt want risk damaging it.

  • I always buy the Jewellery cloths and it never fails me . I don’t have much jewellery but the simple ones stay shiny if you polish it with the cloth occasionally . If it is a diamond, maybe get it specially cleaned by a professional jeweller to be safe .

  • yes what is the deal with those electronic cleaners? i have seen them at the jewellers before.

  • What is the band – gold, white gold, rose gold?? White gold tends to lose its shine quicker than the others. It also scratches much easier for some reason. I suggest you do some research. Toothpaste can be abrasive if you rub it too hard.

  • I am interested in this too. Mine doesnt look very shiney anymore.

  • If you have a steriliser I use that all the time to clean my rings

  • Toothpaste, or I find when I stick my hand in a bucket of things soaking in napisan/vanish it comes out sparkly, some jewellers will clean it while you wait or you can buy those electronic cleaners
