I want to coat the marshmallows in chocolate BUT do not want to have a messy area or melted marshmallows.

  • Use a toothpick or skewer to hold the marshmallow, and let the chocolate cool slightly before dipping the marshmallows in. A job like this, no way will you avoid mess entirely, it’s a messy process


  • putting them on skewers first often works well. Dipping them in coconut or sprinkles etc after also helps the chocolate from dripping off and looks pretty when presenting them. These then look great still on their skewers in a vase on a table if entertaining.


  • Tooth pick/Skewer in the marshmallow, but also allow the chocolate to cool slightly (not so much it starts to go solid again) so that it doesnt melt the marshmallow!


  • Agree with the toothpick method. But dipping in melted chocolate is always messy no matter how hard you try not to be!

  • melt chocolate but keep stiring till it cools down ,stiring will keep it flexible for longer, put marshmellow on skew and dip to coat. Leave on skewers todry thiscould be done by inserting skewer into upsidedown cardboarfdbox till dry ,put in fridge for colder texture in warm weather. an old shoe box would make excellent stand


  • In the food and cooking section a Mum has a recipe for home made Nutella. If none of your family is allergic to nuts maybe you could try that for the ingredients.


  • Heres a thought. Put the mallows in the fridge first so they dont melt under the heat of the chocolate and use a Fondue. Ive eaten them off a stick like that but never fully coated them :)


  • I would use a skewer and dip them into the chocolate and have baking paper on the bench to clean up the mess!


  • LOL! Have never managed to keep clean with marshmallows and chocolate, but I quite like the mess of marshmallows and chocolate! :)


  • Melt the chocolate butler it cool a little so it doesn’t soften the marshmallow further. Use a toothpick or a skewer to duck the marshmallow. Use a wire rack with a sheet of baking paper underneath (to catch any drips) to rest the marshmallows to dry. Ensure the marshmallow is suspended so it doesn’t touch the surface.


  • My sister in law likes coating foods in chocolates. She melts the chocolates in a microwave first and then dips it in ususally on a skewer or fork. In your case I would probably use a skewer as marshmallows are soft. Try googling as I am sure they will have a simple recipe on doing that or how to melt cholcolate for dipping
