Hello!

I am pregnant with “1” baby and I keep getting asked are you having 2! So there are twins in there again! Wow look how huge you are! Wow you are very big! How do you explain over and over again there is only “1” in there and stop saying it? I am sick of hearing that I am “big”.

  • Just ignore them. People love to comment on the size of pregnant people.

  • People are ignorant and sometimes very rude, even though they might not mean to.
    I understand this annoying.
I would just say “aw, thank you” and walk away. That way you don’t give a real answer, your reply might make them think and you brush it off yourself.

  • People would say this to me too, i would just say well they think it’s going to be a big baby, which he was, he was 9 pound 10 1/2 ounces in the end lol i wouldn’t worry about it though, some people are just plain rude.

  • I was much bigger with my 2nd & now 3rd, I ignore the comments but if I feel the need to shut them up I say I have an issue carrying more amniotic fluid than normal… they don’t say anything else.

  • It is best to ignore comments and I bet it is usually the people you know and are more direct I\’d say .

  • That is very true Mom160421

  • I’d ignore it. When your baby is born you won’t hear those comments anymore.

  • I was huge when I was pregnant too and I only had 1 in there – I know its hard but just ignore it – if they keep saying it maybe say something like “whats your excuse” if they have a “big” belly

  • I have a friend who went through a similar thing. She had a lot of placental fluid which made her huge from early on in the pregnancy. At first, she kindly answered questions, then she got sick of it and began answering flippantly and brushing them off. Eg ‘I’m big, not twins, 3 I reckon. How do you take your coffee? Looks like rain!’ Their jaws did drop and no doubt created some mindless gossip

  • I might be about the belly but still find it annoying… Just my hormones playing me I suppose… Sensitive maybe…

  • there don’t really mean you, it is all about the belly lol

  • Just ignore it, honestly I don’t think people mean to be rude, they are just trying to make conversation, even if they don’t do a very good job at it.

  • Some people just have no courtesy! I probably would not waste time providing an explanation – a smile and “Time will tell” should suffice. People really should think before asking such questions – I hope these same people don’t presume they can touch your belly without being asked!!!

  • It would be annoying after awhile. It is all very well for people to say don’t stress about it but that can be easier said than done, especially if you are still working and get it a few times a day. Maybe you should just let them think it is twins – not say yes or no and walk away as soon as you can without making yourself appear to be rude. Not sure how to do that -just a thought. – maybe make out you are on your way to an appt. or something.

  • I like the answer of BellaB too! :-)
Don’t become stressed over these things. These people don’t deserve that you waste your time thinking about them.
