Hello!

“Hi, just wondering if you could help me get some advice on getting my child out of the bath without the screaming!! It happens every night and has become really challenging (he kicks, screams and wriggles around and when he is wet it can be quite dangerous). I just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas or tips to help with this problem! He obviously loves his bath time, but can’t stay in there all night! We have tried singing, clapping, distracting with things and keeping him occupied, but nothing seems to help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!”

  • Have you tried getting him to drain the bath and dry himself?
Maybe trying making an action song (we do “put your arms up in the air like you just don’t care” to get mt girl dry….
    A reward chart?
    Hoow something helps!

  • Distraction and games have worked for us (occasionally!) ie look at the water go down the drain, sing a song, time to brush teeth etc

  • Just keep persevering, being calming and sensible. And hopefully he’ll grow out of it. Or you could leave him in there til the water goes cold? He might want to get out then

  • Funny – I had this issue. I used to say to my son, in three minutes, I am going to ask you to pull the plug out of the bath, and hope out so mummy can give you a big cuddle and dry you, and read you a story – that works for us xxxx

  • Transitioning a child from any preferred activity can be tricky to say the least, maybe a bath timer will help? When the time is up bath time has finished, hopefully it’s just a phase!

  • You just have to see it out … have a non slip mat at the bottom of the bath and then a towel for him to stand on when he gets out. Physically pick him out of the bath and wrap him in towel asap then take him to his room where he cant see the bath.

  • A warm and fluffy towel, and maybe design a game that you can play while drying him and getting him dressed in his pyjamas. While he’s in the bath, maybe an egg-timer, and give him a “surprise” if he’s out of the bath before the egg-timer goes off.

  • Just wondering how it worked out.

  • What did you find to work?

  • Let them pull the plug out and see the water go. And then go all gone

  • Maybe let him know that he has to get ready for his bedtime story and keep things moving along. Also, give a five minute warning to let him know that he will need to get out soon and stick to it.

  • i hope it has worked out

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • Have an awesome cool towel that she loves to be wrapped up in

  • Hope you found some advise
