Hello!

Hi ladies, anyone have any idea how to stop Rice Vermicelli Noodles from sticking together, other noodles you soak in hot water too. I have so much difficulty. When I cook a stir fry I end up with a gloopy lump. Any hints, tips, clues?

  • I always use luke warm water for Vermicelli noodles – be sure you don’t leave them in too long, that could cause the lump too.

  • hi i always soak Vermicelli in cold water never hot. you dont use hot because you are more re-hydrating the noodle rather than cooking. that’s why they are sticking, and always make sure to add the vermicelli right at the end when the dish is off heat as they will heat through from your meal rather than cooking with them on heat

  • Aren’t you supposed to soak them in cold water? That could be affecting them. And maybe you’re soaking too long. They do a lil more cooking when you add them to your dish don’t forget

  • I always add a bit of oil to any pasta I cook.. Perfect everytime!

  • Add a touch of salt and I agree stirring frequently.

  • If you are cooking them like pasta, stir regularly and just as they become al dente, pour in a cup of cold water bring them to the boil again and then drain as usual.

  • I’m guessing you may be letting them soak for too long. They finish cooking in your stir fry, so best to not over cook
