Hello!

Bub is 8 months old. When I’m travelling for a wedding, I will be gone 2 nights. I’ve expressed milk, but I am worried about leaving her. Any tips?

  • As a mum you always worry no matter how old the child. I worked night shift when my first was born for a few month, she was 4 months old and my mother did a terrific job and they developed a very close bond over the years which I believe was due to her looking after her while she was little.

  • I would only leave my baby with my mother because I fully trusted her. I think you need to leave your baby with someone you trust.

  • I think maybe when they get older, especially if you dont leave them that often i have a 9mo and i still worry about her, but were mamas were always going to worry!

  • The short answer…….you will never stop worrying. It gets easier the more you do it, but you never stop worrying. First the babysitting over night. Then comes the sleepovers with friends. Then school camps. Then they move out of home. As a mum, you will always worry

  • I have no real answer and can understand that you worry. Who’s going to look after her ? I would suggest to make sure you keep expressing also when you’re gone those 2 nights, so you keep your supply up (bring a piece of clothing with your babies smell to help you with that). And phone with the person who’s looking after her during your absence, to put your mind at ease.
