Hello!

I love my slow cooker but I hate cleaning it! I find I have to soak it overnight and it’s still hard to get the ring of food off it. Any tips for making this job easier?

  • I think for any food rings which don’t come off easy soaking in nappysan works well. Avoid overly scrubbing as the surface may became more rough and easier burn foods again. After cleaning it wipe it off and store it away with olive oil.

  • I’ve never had this issue – all seems to come off mine really easy without soaking. Maybe it’s the type of insert

  • I always rinse with hot soapy water straight away prior to food particles sticking / baking on as it cools.
If food difficult to remove place water and a splash of vinegar place lid on and bring to boil, this should loosen stuck on stains making it easier to wipe out.

  • Thoroughly spray the inside of the cooker with olive oil before cooking – it makes sure that food doesn’t stick to the cooker even after 12 hours.

  • i just soak if need be and just wash it normally

  • I soak mine immediately after use, but I’ve heard that soaking overnight with a dishwashing tablet and hot water works well too.

  • I wash it hot/warm soapy water. I use a soft scourer to clean if stubborn but it usually doesn’t need it.

  • If the food is super stubborn then fill with dish liquid and hot water and soak overnight – this should do the trick!

  • I just rinse t out then scrub it with a brush and hot soapy water

  • I give it a scrub, then soak it overnight and that usually helps. Every few uses though l chuck it in the dishwasher to give it a bit of a extra clean.

  • I have the cheapest and nastiest slow cooker (it was under $50) the part where the food goes is non stick – we wash it in the sink and it’s ready to go again

  • I agree – a good soak and scrub and then presto – all clean.

  • First of all I make sure I use an olive oil spray. When I cook a roast I make sure I have the vegies on the bottom to stop the meat from sticking or I use scrunched up balls of foil. I have found this really helps. After having used these tricks, if I still have food baked on, I fill the insert with hot water and some bi carb soda for a couple of hours and that is usually all it needs. Hope this helps.

  • I chick mine in the dishwasher then if it doesn’t clean properly I just soak and scrub the rest off.
