Hello!

I have had anxiety for about 10 years now. It’s just become part of my life and I hate it. I would say it’s moderate. What do you do that helps?

  • Talking to someone, like a psychologist, or getting medication through a psychiatrist can really help

  • I try to plan what I can and try to be mindful and living in the moment otherwise the catastrophic what ifing gets a hold but easier said than done a gratitude journal helps too you can get one at kmart for $5 at the moment

  • I HAVE BAD ANXIETY AND HAD IT ALL MY LIFE IT REALLY AFFECTS MY DAY TO DAY LIVING I KNOW SEE A COUNCILLOR AND IT IS REALLY HELPING SHE HELPS ME DEAL WITH IT AND HELPS ME UNDERSTAND WHAT CAUSES MY ANXIETY AND HOW TO COPE WITH IT

  • I have mild anxiety and still worries about everything and inherited from my mother . If you can distract yourself and focus more on positive thoughts, you will worry less. If it is crippling you badly , it is best to see a GP and will refer you to a psychologist if needed . Best of luck .

  • No helpful advice from me, I have it so bad I have run out of meetings and things at times. I feel ridiculous but can’t help it so I avoid social type situations. Medication is helping a little. :/

  • I just try And think about something else. distraction is the key.

  • my 1st step was admitting i had it ( i thought it was asthma attacks)
watch out for the warning signs .

Take time out for your self
talk to some one that you don’t know ( a counselor if can)
and take each day bit by bit
also your deit may play a big part try to eat as much healthy and fresh foods as possible.

  • Please try Kinesiology I go and so does my son and we both have anxiety since going we have been alot calmer and use the breathing techniques given to us. It is not an over night fix but it is working for us. Life is so busy as well and having children we always worry..hope this helps..

  • I find taking myself away from what is making me anxious. If possible. Breathing techniques also help me. It’s horrible, isn’t it. I’ve been suffering for the past 17 yr’s. It can be hard to breath some times. I know sleep is a great help. Try to find things that relax you. Lavender Oil is always a great way to sleep better and just to calm down. Good Luck, I hope you find something to help soon.

  • I use to smoke and it use to calm me down so much but from the second I wanted to concieve had to stop that horrible habbit, Now its hard cos mostly my family and siblings give me bad anxiety. I go in a quiet room and take deep breathes, go for a drive, go to a park and just breathe in the atmosphere and nature. It is so hard to live with. I’ve had anxiety since I was about 5 as long as I can remember.

  • I’ve suffered with it since school, it’s been very hard for me to push through it but it not only affects me it affects my whole family, I’ve basically taught myself to ignore the voice, to shake it as soon as it starts and think about something else. Life really is short and I don’t want to waste it because scared of everything.

  • Write down what is making you anxious the how likely it is to happen then rip it up and put it in a box do this over and over as much as you need for as long as you need.

  • I have suffered with Anxiety for most of my life. I am 51yrs old and my anxiety came to a head about 8yrs ago when I had a melt down. I didn’t know I had anxiety problems when I was growing up, I thought it was just bad nerves. About 8 yrs ago I brokedown over something that looking back on now was so trivial, but at the time I was so wound up it was hard to see things clearly. I sought help and can thoroughly recommend talking to a professional whether it be your doctor or get a referal (as I did) to see a pshycologist. I was given medication which controls alot of my anxiety. I have since identified alot of my anxiety triggers and try to avoid these things where possible or adjust the way I do them. I also found daily meditation tapes helped. Good Luck I know what you are going through.

  • I think recognising and acknowledging the anxiety is always good. When you know you are feeling anxious try to concentrate on what else is happening and think of a strategy to help with the cause. Eg. If driving somewhere makes you feel anxious, try asking a friend to go with you before you get to the point where you cannot cope. Also do seek help if you need it, it is hard to cope on your own and it won’t just go away. Sometimes if you realise that it is happening early you can control it better.

  • Take a multi vitamin B tablet every day works wonders.
