The other day at a extended family gathering I shuddered to see a relatives child wearing a amber teething necklace. As I did not want to offend or upset her I simply acted like I was unaware how these necklaces work. I did nicely ask if they were designed to break if strangulation was occurring.
So my question is: do these necklaces actually work and have they changed the strangulation possibility. In saying this though if indeed they did break apart if force was placed on it ..it could pose another danger with the child possibly placing one or more of the beads into their mouth and chocking.
Thinking a cool item placed on the gums is the way to go and to give the amber beads the heave-ho.
What are your thoughts .
