  • Tupperware is good, also buy from a good shop/get delivered from the farms

  • I just put mine in the crisper and the vegies last for well over a week.

  • Me too. I find perishables such as fruit and vegetables stay fresh if I put them in the fridge crispers ( mine are on bottom of fridge ) and make sure it is shut tight and no air gets into the vent . It should last about 5 days . Maybe it will last longer if you put them in an airtight container and you can find them at supermarkets. I have an old Tupperware crisper which I use now and then but my fridge is good provided I do the above .

  • I put mine into plastic containers, keeps them fresh for ages.

  • Crisper works well, and we normally try and have lots of salads the first few days and if some of the vegetables look like they won’t last make a quick casserole in the slow cooker with the rest.

  • the only real way is to buy direct from the farms this way they are 100 times fresher than from the supermarket (research has shown that the supermarket stuff is up to & over 12 months old before we get it) also you could try storing vegies in one crisper & fruit in the other one this does help some

  • You used to be able to buy these little green plastic things called Keep Fresh that had a sachet of stuff which absorbed the gases produced by your veg etc and therefore kept things fresher for longer. Not sure if they still make them or which aisle they’d be in!

  • You really can’t. Unless you can grow your own or buy from a farmers market, all you buy in supermarkets is old. It has been perhaps been gone from the growth field and kept in refrigeration for an extended time by the time it gets to our location. I buy salad veg on the days it is placed onto the store shelves and use that day or the next. Plan your meals so your meals are without fresh or with frozen, as this perhaps often has retained more nutrition than from the veg section of your supermarket. Root vegetables last longer and do not have to be stored in the veg crisper.
