  • Whenever I’m feeling down, I focus on the positives. It helps to put things in perspective.

  • Yes we all feel like that sometimes. Deep breathing, prayer and meditation, sharing my feelings, a catch up and cry with a good friend are things that help me.

  • Think about doing something you really love. Some time out for yourself when you can look after yourself can be helpful, fresh air and a change of scenery can also help.

  • i get outside in the fresh air or go find something fun to do. talk to family or friends, watch a comedy and hang out with the kids.

  • I always try to remember that the situation could be worse and that their are always people less fortunate then myself

  • You have to keep positive, there is always a light!

  • I have to say with friends and family around its great!

  • When I feel a bit down, getting out in nature, the beach or the country, seems to just get me back to myself. Try getting a bit of rest, catching up with good friends whose company you enjoy and eating healthily. If you just don’t feel better, go see your doctor. There are lots of strategies that just might work for you. I hope you’re back on top of things soon.

  • I am still partly going through this but the thing that has been helping me the most is making sure I am living life how I want. Making sure I am living by my values and raising my children how I think is right and I know I am on the path to where I want to be.

  • I have been going through this for a number of months. I have been seeing my GP regularly and he has helped with ensuring I am looking after myself and recommending ways to improve. I have seen a psychologist, dietitian and fitness physiologist as well as ongoing medicationt to assist with my mental health. There is no quick fix and not one of these alone has helped but together I am moving through this dark time.

  • I would suggest having a list of strategies, ideas, hobbies and activities that make you feel good and give you some relief and a lift. Use them when you feel down and it may help with picking you up? :)

  • I have regular down days. Sometimes it just takes a stupid act by someone to get me down. I have a sook and dwell on it for all of five minutes. Then I look at my beautiful kids, have a play with my dog, listen to some music. Generally gets me out of my funk

  • Getting help and support when times are tough is important. This can be through a counsellor, books, support groups and meditation and relaxation. It can be a long journey and looking after your health and well being is important by eating well and getting exercise and spending time doing the things you enjoy. Spending time connecting with family and friends is important and they can be there for you when you need it. I hope things improve for you! :)

  • Things can be very hard at times – talking about things with others really helps, as does getting out of the house, even for just a walk around the block.
