  • What’s wrong with comparing? As long as you’re not saying or thinking one is slower then the other for whatever reason. Parents keep track of milestones, one kid will walk early another will sleep through the night earlier. There’s no harm in saying so

  • I only have one child so I’ve always been curious as to how I would have been with more children.

  • It takes practice not to compare kids. You’ll get there, they tend to be very different!

  • As already said just realize our kids are all different and unique.
The one is small – the other is tall, this one is smart – that one excels in art, the one is super quick – the other a bit slow…..
There’s no good or bad, they’re all beautiful and precious and that’s something we should communicate to our kids.

  • Yes, thinking positive and knowing we are all different is best .

  • What a great way to look at it Sam! Thanks for posting a genuinely great answer! (I personally dont have an answer)

  • Each child will have different strengths and weaknesses. Focus on the positive in each child.

  • Its hard, but if you do it now, it will continue. I did it, and now my teens pick up on it. It upsets them, and me, so now I try deal with it better. Just know in the back of your mind, that noone is like you, and you are not like anyone, and its like that with our kids too
