I wonder if u have any ideas that could help me… Felicity has learnt to pull herself up to stand in her cot. While its very clever and cute she keeps doing it at bed time. I spend ages going in and laying her back down cause she gets stuck standing up in the cot and cries. If I leave her she falls and hits her head. Any idea how to stop it ? It is driving me insane having to keep laying her back down.

  • Its a frustrating transition time, you cant stop her but she will get better at it! Try different settling practices and embrace her new found skills!

  • you cant really do anything

  • I think it’s pretty much the same in everyones house I’m afraid.

  • I hope you have managed to solve the problem

  • Sometimes there is just nothing you can do about it.

  • Did you find any ideas on how to stop it?

  • They lie down eventually :)

  • They soon learn to get back down by themselves.

  • You could try putting her in a sleeping bag to make it harder for her to get up. Hope you managed to find a solution

  • Have you had any progress? Or any answers helped?

  • Sometimes is the stage for a big girl bed. Jus for her safety.

  • Babies go through the milestone you just have to be strong best of luck ;-)

  • Have you tried tucking her in and sayin “nite nite felicity” :-)

  • I have the same thing with my son at the moment, except luckily he has learned to get himself back down pretty quickly. When he first started we left him be, and if he fell and bumped his head hard we would pick him up, but not for a gentle tap.

  • I had the same problem. It just a stage that they are excited they can pull themselves up and stand and want to keep practising it. Just make sure there is nothing she can stand on in the cot to get her up higher and just leave her for a while. Once she tires herself out go and lay her down and she should go to sleep.
