Hello!

I made an impulse purchase and bought some whole cloves. Now I don’t know how to use them. Any ideas?

  • You can also grind them in a spice or coffee grinder in case you don’t find anything to use whole cloves with.

  • google it. taste.com. will have lots of recipes on it. add them to meat and experiment with it.

  • I know you can get a whole orange an insert whole cloves in it all over and it makes the room smell lovely. Usually when whole cloves are used in a recipe you pop them into whatever you are preparing at the beginning of cooking the recipe then at the finish when it is cooked you remove the whole clove an discard it.

  • Thank you. I’ll have to google how to make a pommander and then give it a try.

  • I don’t know many recipies that call for cloves. At Christmas we stud the ham fat with cloves – it gives the ham a subtle flavour. A fun craft activity for pre primary and older kids is making a pommander – that uses heaps of cloves!
