After stopping breastfeeding, how long did you leak milk ? Was it often? Was there a lot of milk or just a little? I’m years postpartum and I still occasionally have a few drops come out of 1 breast -always same side.
Is it normal?

  • I have never heard of this before. I stopped after a few weeks, and as far as I know that’s true for all my friends too.

  • My youngest is four and i stopped breastfeeding when he was 18 months olds and my breasts both still leak if i squeeze them..

  • Even though I only breastfed my son for four weeks , it was not enough for him so I decided to stop and bottlefed. It doesn’t stop suddenly and I remembered at the time my sister in law told me to empty the breast properly by feeding the baby less frequently so maybe once a day and then eventually it will stop completely . If you don’t and continue with the same frequency your breast will increase the milk because it is sensing you still want to feed and not stop . Mine took over two weeks and it was quite slow , but eventually dried up completely . Go to a GP or childhood nurse if you have any concerns as they may assess your habits and health . Good luck .
    Good luck .
