Our daughter was around 5mths and she simply grew out of it. Our son was a light sleeper so he got kicked out of our room and the bassinet by around 2mths. It depends on the child.
3-4 months, this helped transitioning into the cot easier I found. As much as you don’t want them to grow up so quickly.. it helps them with independence.
Our son is 3 months and still sleeping in it (it’s a really long bassinet and he is already 66 cm). He will fit in it until he is 80-85 cm so probably about 6 months old, at that point I don’t think he’d be sitting unassisted. I read that it happened more around the 9 months mark.
We are starting to move him in his cot because he is too noisy at night and it seems that we are the one waking him up by moving too much in bed.
We are hoping that without us to disturb him he will sleep better.
It really depends on your baby and your situation. My first I kept in my room in a bassinet for 6 months. My second it was only about 6 weeks as he was a big boy and also a very noisy (lots of mucus so would almost snore) so I didn’t get much rest. Once I put him in his cot he settled and seemed to like it better. My third I had no room so stayed for a lot longer and I also breast fed for longer so made more sense to be next to me.
