  • I keep the quality ones for ages!
The el cheapo ones I probably wear them for a few years then donate them to a second hand shop as they’re usually pieces that go in and out of fashion.
Stuff that I paid a lot of money for I tend to keep pretty much forever.

  • Long ! Some of the clothes I wear are 30+ years old !!

  • I keep them till they fall apart or I donate them if I don’t fit into them anymore. It’s hard to put a time on how long I keep them. Depends on the quality of the item.

  • Either until they are completely worn out if it’s a favourite piece even then I may try to fix it if it’s fixable. Or 12 months even less if I haven’t worn it in ages and don’t see myself wearing it in the near future.
Why keep a clothing item if you don’t love to wear it.

  • I tend to go for comfort and the latest style, Most of my clothes last a long time unless I gain or lose too much weight. However there has been a couple of times I have given up wearing some good clothes out and about as they were just so old fashioned. Last time I did that the fashion came back into vogue the following year. I was not too happy about that. If they are still really good and no longer fit me I try to find somebody I know who will wear them or donate them to a charity. Some of them have lists of items that they have need of so they sometimes send or receive products from other charities which is an excellent idea. Others put them straight into their op shops. I have actually bought 100% cotton clothing for an elderly lady who has severe skjn problems and we have found out that she reacts really badly to synthetic materials. Despite trying just about every moisturiser including natural ones, her skin has on some occasions actually literally peeled off onto the floor.

  • I don’t have a time frame! I’ve had some clothes I’ve had for like 10 years which are still great and others I’ve thrown after a year or so. Depends on quality and style I think

  • Usually until it’s either falling apart or if I haven’t warn it in 12 months

  • Depends upon what type of clothing you are talking about. With baby clothing I kept the first lot until I thought I had finished, the second lot I knew I was not having anymore. The second lot went to my second son as his daughter is a year younger then my twins. As for my clothing I keep them until I no longer need them or have seen better days.

  • I keep clothes for a very long time. Even when they no longer fit… I think I need to remedy this as I no longer have the storage space.

  • For a long time, until they wear out, unless I made a mistake and never wear it. I think we need to stop throwing so much into landfill and the op shops have too many clothes too.

  • I keep them for ages – just incase I ever want to wear them again. I really need to have a cull and buy some new things

  • Probably way, way too long! I have clothes that I don’t fit in but keep! I have dresses I will never wear again! I have pants that the style has come and gone! So…. I think after Christmas I will have a very big cleanout. I intend to sort this mess out. I need to be more real with what I need. I need only to keep what fits and what looks great and what I feel great wearing. The charity shops need these clothes and shoes and accessories we never use!

  • I tend to keep some classics even up to a decade of they’ve been really looked after. Some seasonal items find a new home through charity donations usually after a year. It really depends on how well they’re cared for and how much you love them :) I recently did a clean out after watching some Marie Kondo shows and clips, very therapeutic :)

  • Way too long. I have an issue with keeping clothing on a just in case I fit it, clause. Don’t do this as I have to now kull my clothing piles

  • As long as they fit and look good. With a few sentimental exceptions like my wedding dress.
