My first born had it bad. The maternal child health nurse recommended we use liberal amount of olive oil and very gently try to comb it out. Took a good month of massaging olive oil, letting it absorb and very gently combing it out but it worked.
My little had terrible craddle cap. The doctor told us to use olive oil over it and gentle scratch it away. It was clear within 2 weeks and we used an oil based moisturiser to keep it away. My daughter has terrible ezcema as well.
I noticed it gone by a year. Was pretty prevalent for the first 6 months then started reducing. Olive oil and a soft tooth brush at bath time helped reduce it more quickly.
I’m a hairdresser and Ive seen many cases over the years and with my own children .. I found it can last a few months to several months of even years on and off ..the best remedy Is use olive oil rubbed on scalp every night and wash out with s gentle shampoo repeat every night .. And di not pick at it as this can damage the hair follicle
My daughter is 22 months old and she still has a little bit. Her hair is quite long now so it covers it but I can see it’s still there. I’d like it gone but it’s not flakey and it’s not hurting her so I’m happy to leave it.
