I think it depends on their age. When my 2 were younger (like 2yrs) they would cry but the carers said as soon as i had gone it would stop. I would make a point of watching him/her when you get there in the afternoon from a place they can not see you from. Our kindy had one way glass so it was easy, but if you have to hide around a door etc do it. That way you will be able to see how they are going without you. If there are any problems with the carers you should be able to pick this up also by watching their reactions to each other. Goodluck, its so hard when they are upset.
Also my kids changed their perspective once they found out their older cousin (who they look up to alot) went to Kindy. Then they started looking forward to it thinking it was what “big kids” do. If you have anyone in your family or friends like that maybe use that approach.
