Hello!

I’m wondering how much roughly it costs to get your house cleaned for a single story house? Vacuumed, dusted, mopped and clean bathroom/toilets? There are so many companies out there but I don’t know how much is a good price for a good clean and not be ripped off. Do I look at per hour or the price given to do those jobs on the spot?

thanks.

  • Ours quoted $35/45 per hour which did bathrooms eg. Only add one for ovens would be more

  • You’d probably be looking at paying 2 hour minimum. Somewhere between $30-$45 an hour.

  • I pay $125 for 2.5 hours, which includes all those jobs plus help with changing the sheets, and a bit of a clean in the kitchen. I have found that individual cleaners can vary in speed and thoroughness, so you may need to try a few before you find one that can do what you want in a reasonable time.

  • depends but my friends do it for 25 an hour and 20 an hour for pensioners but they can get a “free” clean once a year if loyal customers. (based on a once a week service) which is pretty good. (small business)

  • ask friends/family if they want a few extra dollars per week first!
i worked in admin for a company that charged $40 per hour but only paid the cleaners $15 an hour… it is such an unfair industry!

  • it really does depend – shop around and get several quotes. Ask them what the hourly rate is or if they give you a figure ask them how many hours they think it will take so you can work it out. Make sure you check what they will and won’t do – some won’t do ovens, some don’t do walls, or charge extra for certain things. Be specific to get the right person for the job.

  • About 2 hours and cost about $40-$50 depending on the cleaner

  • Most cleaners will come and give you a quote, if they are experienced they can assess what is required and how much it will cost. Ring a few and see what they say then you can compare or ask for recommendations from friends etc.

  • I like to agree on a price before hand. If it’s hourly rate then, I’ll asked to be quoted on how long it’ll take and fix the cost upfront.

  • Do price comparisons on all cleaning companies and businesses to get a good idea of costs. Check the papers to find the rates too.

  • I wouldn’t hire anyone on an hourly basis. It’s always best to know what the total cost will be before hiring someone and also discuss exactly what you want done.

  • I would get a fixed quote and be quite specific about what you want done. That way you can compare quotes easily. We once did a house on an hourly basis and I would never get a cleaner that way again.

  • Ooh, I’m not sure I have the answer you’re looking for. I would think a personal house cleaner would be between $20-$25 an hour. That’s just going on where I live, which is rural, just one woman business. No idea about bigger city cleaners
