Hello!

My daughter is breastfed and on solids. I am wanting to know how much other 11 month olds eat when it comes to solids and snacks please.

  • Food before one is just for fun, I try to introduce mine to whatever we are eatting. I avoid pureed food as it just adds to another weaning thing. Offer them food if they don’t eat it , as long as still having milk don’t stress!

  • It’s pretty easy to work out how much your baby needs to feed eating. Babies are really good at only eating what they need. I fed mine three healthy meals with occasional snacks, I found they didn’t really demand to much more to eat between meals

  • They’ll still be getting a lot of their nutrients from your milk, so I would say follow babies lead. Offer healthy snacks at regular intervals throughout the day and if they’re eaten, all good, if not…..baby just wasn’t hungry

  • 2 meals in a day is enough

  • By about that age some little ones want what you are eating. I know one of ours did. If they eat a fair bit at lunch time they may not really want their meal at night.
Friends of ours the Dad did night shift. If the baby woke up when he tried to sneak in he would give the baby a bottle of room temperature water – especially in the warm weather and baby would go straight back to sleep. They think the car going past the bedroom window may have disturbed baby, That way the baby didn’t disturb the whole family.

  • My daughter wasnt big eater. Yoghurt and some fruit pure for breakfast
    Lunch – fruits
    Dinner-vegetable and meat puree
Supper- home made custard or oatmeal ect

  • I used to defrost 1-2 icecubes of food per meal. Frozen pumpkin, potato etc.

  • The guidelines say solid foods three times a day and maybe two small snacks. By now your baby should be eating a variety of different foods and taking an active role at mealtimes by self-feeding and drinking from a sippy cup. At 11 to 12 months: 22 to 32 ounces of breast milk or formula in a 24-hour period.
However our kids are all different aqnd I wouldn’t worry too much the first year as it’s all about learning new tastes and textures.

  • I’ve got 5 children & our youngest is currently 10months. By 10months they all have breakfast, lunch & dinner with small snacks if still showing signs of being hungry. The midwives told me many times that bubs stomach size is the size of their own fist. So I thought that was a great indicator when it came to solids/milk & bub.

  • Just go by how much your little one eats. Unless you are worried they are way under or over eating it will be different for each child and how they are growing s

  • When both of mine were 11 months it was breakfast lunch and dinner and 1/2 snacks depending on how hungry they were.
Go by your baby – you can offer more smaller meals or she might be happy with few bigger meals
