Hello!

Just wondering how much “me time” other Mums get during the week?

  • What does that question even mean?? To myself…. does that mean away from the kids and hubby and doing something that isn’t household related (shopping etc, studying/working etc) almost none. maybe an hour or 2 a week, if im lucky.

  • Next to none. Hubby is FIFO and we have no help. Its exhausting but oh so worth it!

  • When the kids were small my husband always made sure I got a few hours on a Saturday or sunday morning he would take the kids to visit nan or go to the park etc.

  • It can be really hard to find ‘me time’ or justify it for that matter when there a million and one things to do! However, you should always make some time because it’s so important to your health and mentality. Even if it’s only half an hour to read a chapter of a book; do some sewing; or whatever hobby you may have …. work out the best time during the day when it is possible and chill out!

  • I don’t feel like I get very much at all. I work full time and am pretty much a sole parent to two children, one of which is at school and I am on every committee/volunteer group you can think there. I get my Mum to watch them every so often so I can catch up with friends for a wine and dinner.

  • I don’t feel like I get any at the moment but it’s just temporary and balance will be restored again.

  • I have no idea though I’m sure throughout the day I get a little space and me time…

  • I’m really not sure how much “me” time I get .. although my husband and I have been going to yoga twice a week. Does that count?

  • Spending time on hobbies and interests every week is good for health and wellbeing too.

  • Very little and nowhere as much as I need. I think alot of mums are in the same boat unfortunately

  • Finding some time every day is important. Scheduling in time helps!

  • Some weeks seem easier than others and time is managed well and can sneak in plenty of time for myself. Other times busy schedule, unwell kids, work commitments can be hard. I think it’s all about making time for yourself and reaching out and asking for help. You need to put time aside for yourself, whether it be a bath or shower in peace, reading a book, hot cup of coffee, just something to enjoy remember to put yourself first too.
