  • We watch 1 episode of Sesame st and 1 of Thomas the Tank most days.

  • I have read that toddlers shouldn’t have much screen time at all. My thinking is about half an hour a day. Of course, if they are unwell, then a bit more screen time might be needed as they don’t feel like doing much. ABC for kids is the best site. Programmes like Peppa Pig and The Wiggles, Thomas and Friends, Guess how much I love you. From my experience, Playschool is more suitable for three years and over.

  • My daughter has to wear an eye patch for an hour a day and the only way we could get her to do this was to let her watch “her shows” on the iPad. She watches too much as will watch TV in the afternoon when I am making dinner too. Its tough with a 4 year old and a baby to keep them both happy around witching hour! I am working on only having her do an hour screen time a day watching the iPad and hopefully cutting this a bit too and get her to do other activities to help strengthen her eye.

I am happy for her to watch playschool, hey duggee and bananas in pjs. She seems happier after watching these too. She got into watching those videos of kids opening toys and is obsessed! I had to hide Safari from the iPad to stop her watching these!

  • My son get about 20min in the morning and about an hour of an afternoon to watch cartoons etc, after that we put the news on or something that we think would be interesting plus educational, when we sit as a family we talk about what we are watching so he understands what his viewing like the news or documentary’s

  • My 2 year old watches about 20 minutes around dinner time so I can get things sorted, but she doesn’t always watch it more interested in making a mess of the tuppaware cupboard!

  • To be honest, our tv is always on. I find it ends up being more background noise rather than them watching it though.

  • I’d have to say umi zoomie its very educational and kids absolutely love this show

  • One way yo tell if your child is getting too much screen time, is the reaction when the screen is removed, or the TV turned off. If the become really angry or upset, it si time to cut back or cut it out. Screen time is very addictive.

  • We don’t watch a lot of tele but do more on the ipad. My daughter watches lots of programs about counting, colours and letters.

  • As a toddler my daughter didn’t watch more than one hour of television a day. At that time I enjoyed watching with her Dora the Explorer, Diego, Barney…
