Hello!

I water my indoor plants as per the instructions but they never seem to do very well. Should I let them dry out as I find mine never seem to thrive.

  • I generally water mine once a week with a dribble of water and so far so good.

  • I lightly spray mine with a spray bottle and a bit of sugar

  • I think it totally depends on the type of plant what it needs; hot or cooler place, sun/shade, dry soil/wet soil etc. It can help to ask advice from a plant nursery, google the plant and care instructions or buy a plant guide

  • The plants might need more light or nutrients. Try asking a plant nursery about taking care of your plants and where they should be in the house eg low light, filtered light, full sun etc.

  • Perhaps it’s over watering or maybe not the right lighting conditions. Try placing the plants in different locations in the house.

  • I have a large plant in my house which is now called a ‘Grass Tree’. I have had it for 24 years. It is as healthy as I the day I bought it (very expensive). I have never watered it except to remove the dust. Yes forgive me it is plastic. All my indoor plants have always died on me, so I do not have them anymore. But I did learn that all plants need the sun as well as water. Indoor plants will survive winter with one cup of water a week or slightly less and one cup water every third day in summer. Let them dry a bit but not fully. Do not keep them wet. Be careful with plants near windows that they don’t burn. Depends where you live. They cope better if put outside for a few days or more every month. I got sick of this and left then outside. love to all Lyn

  • It also depends upon where you position your plants – I choose places near windows as my plants also need lots of natural light.

  • If they are plastic not at all! haha! Im not a huge green thumb so not much help!

  • It really does depend on the type of plants – always worth a visit to your local nursery with some plants for some advice and tips.

  • the reason why your plants I dying just because you’re over watering them it depends what type of plants you have also I would suggest you put them outside in the sun a little bit and only water when necessary good luck with your plants

  • Generally I water my indoor plants once a week. You should put one finger in the soil. Give water if it’s dry, otherwise not.

  • Depending on the type of plant and the position – I play it by ear and water when it starts to get dry. Over watering and under watering can both do just as much damage to a plant, so check them regularly.

  • I think once or twice a week also.

  • I think I must water too frequently as my friend has really healthy looking indoor plants that always look too dry to me. I must stop myself from giving them a drink!!

  • It would depend on what type of plant but in Winter l would say once or twice a week, check the dirt to see if it dry, best of luck.
