I’d get a new mattress if it’s that old!

I think my mattress was about that old, although it was the “spare” bed from my grandmas so we knew where it came from and how often it was used. You had made me think about my mattress though as I think we have had it for nearly 20 years!

If it’s really that old, I’d definitely buy a new one.

Nup I wouldn’t use a second hand mattress that old for a child. Too many gremlins could be living in it

I replace my mattress every 10 years. But I know it should be more frequent

could get it professionally cleaned? if its good quality and hardly used should be ok

It’s 15+ years old and it’s for your child, I would get a new one. This one would be worn and maybe saggy in places, making it uncomfortable and probably no healthy ergonomically wise

I would say it depends on whether you know the history of the mattress – who used it, where was it stored. If you’re unsure, I’d get a new mattress just for peace of mind.

Depends on the age of the matress and if it was used a lot.. If you are unable to afford a new one i would recommed steam cleaning it, and getting a water proof cover for it…

I would definetly get new one. I think it depends on the quality of the mattress but 10 years is the max I’d hold on to kids ones.

I would get a new mattress as 15yrs is way too old & you don’t know where or how it was stored etc.

You should get at least 10 years out of a quality mattress. Ours is 12 years old but still very comfortable. I am not in a hurry to change it because it’s not in the budget.

It is said that a mattress should last 10 years but if it is a good one and is still in good condition, just run your vacumm cleaner over it to get rid of dust mites

Experts suggest no longer then 10years.
However if there is no sign of wear and it’s clean (you vacuum or get it professionally cleaned) a mattress could last a bit longer.
Always buy a new mattress if you can instead of a used one.
