Hello!

When you’re at a park, and your 2 & 1 yr old keep getting hit by another kid and the other kids parents do nothing but know it’s happening – what do you do? Should confront the hitting child & his mother? How do I handle this situation?

  • I hope you were able to find a solution.

  • Tell offthe kid loud enough for their parents to hear.

  • I don’t like telling off other kids, but if they were hurting my child and the parent did nothing, I’d say something or at least remove my child from the situation and tell them loudly that we have to leave because of the bully. Something like that haha.

  • I am quite happy to tell another kid off if the parents refuse to do anything. I once approached a parent because her son ripped off the buttons on my daughters jacket, a brand new jacket too. I was not impressed.

  • I would jump up and say something to the kid. They’ll either be shocked enough to listen or it will get a reaction from the other parent who should tell their kid to stay away from yours

  • We love park hunting. We try different parks in suburbs and have come across children with social problems. I just pack up and leave and find another park. I do not approach any parent as my actions speak for themselves

  • I would definitely say something to the parents, as it’s unacceptable behaviour from both the child and the parents. If you get a negative response from the parents, I would take your children and leave the area, explaining very simply to them that we don’t play with naughty children.

  • I would loudly ask the child to stop hitting, tell them it’s not nice and they are making your child sad, tough situation.

  • That’s a hard situation, I would get your child to say “stop it, I don’t like it.”

  • Yes take them over to their parents and tell them and let them handle it

  • I myself would politely confront them

  • I would go directly to the mother – not good enough to let your child be hitting other children. And if she still does nothing I’d say something like ‘I guess I have just met a bullies mother then’

  • how did you go about it?

  • Hope some of the advice below has helped.

  • I hope that the hitting has stopped now
