Hello!

I would like to know, for once and for all how to cook the perfect eggs! I would love to hear from other mums, how do you make a great hard boiled egg, soft boiled egg and poached egg. If anyone has any tips or best methods for cooking these I would love to hear from you! Thanks.

  • Once water is on boiling point put egg in it wait for 4 min for soft egg and 5 min for dully boiled egg


  • I got my son to make them. When I had my appendix removed, he asked what I would like for lunch, I asked for soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers. He cooked me up 2, first time he’s done it, just from verbal instructions from me. He nailed it, absolutely perfect!

  • 2 soft boiled eggs, runny enough to dip toast soldiers in, 5 mins in boiling water. Works every time. Hard boiled, put in water, bring to boil, turn off and leave for 10 mins. Empty hot water add cold. Mmmmmm


  • I boil my eggs for five minutes; perfect every time!


  • i boil water and add room temperature eggs and 10 mins hard boiled

    to poach boil water the set to simmer with a dash of white vinegar and crack eggs into water an cook for 3-4 mins for soft runny inside


  • I found the best thing for me was to buy an egg cooker thing.. HAH hard to explain, it goes in the water with the eggs and tells you when they are cooked. Works 100% of the time

  • we have a machine that poaches and boils eggs. the hardest part is measuring the amount of water in the base and it makes the perfect soft and hard boiled eggs.


  • I think you can buy an egg poacher – I know you can buy the rollie thing so surely there is a poacher!
