Hello!

My hubby is turning 40 this year and he doesn’t like to celebrate. Has anyone got any ideas for what I could organise that’s not over the top? Thanks

  • family get awy like on a houseboat, or river dinner cruise. Meet up with family and friends at a winery

  • A nice quiet family dinner at home or at a friends. Order a meal in to give yourself a chance to relax too

  • For my husbands 30th im going to throw him a big surprise party. I think he deserves it after all the hard work he does for us.

  • For my 40th it was a romantic dinner for myself and my husband. It was lovely and I didn’t want a party or a fuss.

  • For my Hubby I organised a romantic night in the city. We had dinner, night out and five star accommodation (without the kids).

  • Cool! Its very interesting reading the comments on this!

  • A surprise party or dinner with family and friends.

  • Surprise party!

  • I don’t like to celebrate my birthdays either. Will he feel uncomfortable if you do organise something for him? If I had to celebrate my birthday it would be just a quiet night at home with hubby and daughter, nice dinner and a DVD.

  • go with what he likes: fishing, winery, brewery, camping trip etc

  • Hogs breath or somewhere in that catagory fits best! It gets harder as you get older to think of places :-(

  • Depending on where you live, a couple of nights away together would be wonderful for both of you. I went to an old cottage in the Clare Valley Winery region in South Australia for my 40th. We stayed in a cottage smack in the middle of vineyards, roaring log fire every day, out checking out a few wineries, dinner at a local restaurant, and it was brilliant. If he’s a wine-lover, investigate what’s available not far from you.

  • I’m a 43 yr old male who is not that sociable. If he has a favourite cuisine perhaps cook something or home deliver, stay in, watch a movie you both love, keep it simple!

  • maybe something at home with the family

  • A surprise family picnic with all his favourite foods, and invite his family and friends.
Do I to a weekend at a national park with shelter area In in case of bad weather.
