Hello!

My friend is expecting in 6 weeks time and as this is her 3rd baby, I’d like to give her a present, rather than one for the baby. Is this ok to do and if so, any suggestions on what to get?

  • I would gift a little book of IOUs. Offer your time to babysit, to cook a meal, do some laundry, just go round for a cuppa etc We all know as new mums how little things become big things when we are overwhelmed., so these small offers of help would be hugely appreciated

  • That is a lovely idea! I’d buy her something personal something she can indulge herself with. Creams, lotions, maybe a voucher for after the birth for a facial or new hairstyle. Anything that makes her feel pampered would be appreciated I think.

  • Yes, I think that’s a great idea.

  • YES give it to the mum as everything goes to Hun and honestly the mum is doing all the work lol

  • Yes l can’t see why not,she will appreciate it as well!

  • Yes, I do this! Luxury toiletries, favourite treat foods, or something pretty like a scarf.

  • I would love if any of my friends had done that.
I would think in a present that maybe could be useful for both, your friend and her baby. Maybe a teething necklace? There are beautiful ones, I am sure your friend and her baby will love it.

  • I would appreciate your gift because you are thinking about your friend . I am the type for being grateful on good things in my life and friendship is one of them .

  • Absolutely. Totally fine. Wish someone had given me a present after what I went through!

  • Yes definitely. Especially with her 3rd child she will probably have a lot baby items from her other children. I would suggest a pamper voucher – massage, facial, nails etc. Maybe even a movie voucher and a note saying you will look after the kids one night. Or a mum to be hamper pack.

  • For sure!! The mother is just as important as bubba. Actually I think the mum is more deserving of a present after everything we go thru!! All agree yes!!

  • Yes of couse, something to pamper her, massage voucher, hand cream, perfume

  • Lovely idea, some flowers a gift pack of hygeine stuff or even a coupon to help her out for the day!

  • I think it’s a great idea. Bubble bath, lansinoh, washable breast pads, yummy food, some nice moisturiser, slippers.

  • I think it’s a perfect idea and the suggestions everyone has given already are great. You could even put together a little pack for her of things she needs after the baby is born, some books she can read one handed while breast feeding, a new bathrobe for middle of the night feeds, comfy pj pants because who doesn’t live in pj pants after giving birth.
