I have some recipes that ask for a slice tray but do not give measurements – is this a lamington tray?

  • I think slice trays are usually smaller with higher sides. I would think you could adapt a lamington tray though, depending on how high you slice is

  • It can be used as a lamington tray.

  • It could be, if you want smaller lamingtons…lol I would use it if it means having to go and buy something else.

  • A slice tray is smaller than a lamington tray, If needed a lamington tray could be used but the recipe may not have enough to cover a while tray. They are nearly half the width

  • Thanks for asking the question. I have always wondered about this too.

  • yes a lamington tray

  • No a lamington tray is higher and a little wider and longer, but if you do not mind your slice been a little thiner, then it will be fine…or you could ust stop speading the slice a few cm’s short of the end…

  • A slice tray is similar to a lamington tray but narrow (and not as big)

  • too funny nealsq – thanks lovelies, I appreciate your help xxx

  • A slice tray is about 2/3rds of the size of a lamington tray though if you have a sweet tooth then a lamington tray is the perfect slice tray!

  • No a slice tray is smaller, a lamington tray is deeper and bigger.

  • staffy 53 has given a great response .
And I also feel a lamington tray is deeper.

  • I imagine so. How wrong could you go?

  • Thanx for asking this Q. I always wondered this myself!

  • A lamington tray is a bit deeper than a slice tray….where lamingtons are larger cube shape whereas slice is more rectangular….however in saying that if you need to use it then a slice tray will suffice
