No, they are not the same, certainly different. Corn meal is a lot coarser then corn flour. There would be a completely different flavour too

Both are ground corn (maize, as they would have it in Europe). The difference is that corn flour is usually ground to a much finer texture than cornmeal. Therefore you will get different textural results.

I use polenta too for this recipe.

There is a difference between corn meal and corn flour. Smaller deli style shops will probably be able to help you out with finding/sourcing corn meal. Dagwood Dogs are such a special treat!

Pretty sure there’s a definite difference between corn flour and corn meal. Corn meal is coarser. Try polenta or maybe even semolina. Polenta would be my first choice though

I think corn meal is like polenta or semolina. Corn flour is actually a flour while corn meal is gritty and grainy. They are very different.
