Hello!

Hi MoM, Whilst I was at work yesterday my in laws gave my 11 week old baby cows milk (mixed with the expressed breast milk I had left). Bubba was quite distressed and didn’t drink much, but should I be worried? Is cow’s milk OK for a baby just once? I am freaking out! I know cows milk isn’t good for babies tummies, but is there anything else I should be looking out for? Thanks, Jade

  • I personally wouldn’t until 12 months.

  • It is not good but baby should be fine. May cause a tummy upset 0 of worried, call a doctor or parenting line for advice

  • If you are really worried call 13health. I think if anything bubba may just experience and upset belly with maybe some diahorrea,

  • Hope that baby came right quickly and that you did not notice to much difference

  • Sure it is & don’t let anybody tell you different

  • Of course its o,k!

  • Poor you! bub will be fine, maybe an upset tummy for a day or so but no real damage, what bub will pick up on is your stress so try not to fret!

  • I hope everything worked out, I would have been pissed off! They don’t break down the enzymes like we do but shouldn’t hurt much apart feom a little tummy upset for a day or two

  • It would be fine. It might upset her little stomach but nothing to stress over.

  • I hope you didn’t over worry this and as you would of seen, everything was fine

  • it wont kill him but i would suggest you tell them please never again

  • It should’t do any lasting damage just once. You might have a few rough nights with tummy pains though as they have trouble processing the enzymes in cows milk

  • I hope bub was okay.

  • I hope it all worked out in the end.

  • He would probably have just had a bad tummy pain from it, which would have passed, I hope you have had a talk to the in laws and told them not to do it again.
