  • Similarly to what happens to you when you are expecting your period, the hormones of pregnancy might change the types of cravings you experience. Hormones can affect your sensory experience of food, your sense of smell, and your mood—all of which determine what type of foods you crave.


  • A change in hormones during pregnancy can cause you to have different good cravings and tastes. This can also occur whenever there is a change in your hormones – hence why women may have cravings during their monthly cycles when their hormones change.


  • I had cravings for Mexican. Lucky we lived above Guzman y Gomez – I was eating it for lunch everyday!!!
    Don’t know if that’s really weird like someone said they had a craving for pumice stones?!

  • I’d say true. When I was pregnant with my son all I wanted was spicy foods. Yet when I was having my daughter I so craved Watermelon. I could eat a whole one!
