Help!  Everytime my back is turned, my littlie grabs my cup of coffee and finishes the dregs.  Is this really bad?  Has it ever happened to you?

  • I don’t think this will hurt your child, but I would not leave my cup lying around.

  • Might have to rinse out your mug straight after you finish

  • I would not give my child coffee, and rarely does she drink coke, sometimes a frozen coke at maccas, they contain caffeine, kids don’t need to become addicted.

  • Once in a blue moon should be okay!

  • I don’t think kids should have coffee at all. Perhaps put your cup up higher.

  • Can’t beleive kids like it lol! I even can’t stand the taste!

  • It’s bad for adults … so are energy drinks.

  • My daughter does every now and again, aged eight. A milky one.

  • Yes it is bad, children are sneaky! Try keep it out of her reach one day she might severely burn herself.

  • I don’t think it will do any harm if it is only a small amount occasionally but would not be encouraging it. You are the one that has to deal with a little one with caffeine.

  • This is very very bad! Especially the end but which is the strongest. Once finished drinking wash it up straight away!

  • Sorry coffee is not good for any child

  • things do happen with little kids and its easy to forget things like that but i really dont think its good for them at all there is a reason kids are not supposed to drink coffee red bulls etc :)

  • I think coffee or caffeine of any sort should be encouraged for children however this seems to be a genuine phase that they just want your cup – make sure you put it up high and maybe grab your child a similar cup and put water in it that they can feel like they are drinking coffee like mummy. I tell my children coffee (and my husbands alcohol) are adult drinks and will make them feel sick and they have learnt not to ask for it.

  • I don’t imagine a little sip every now and again could do much harm, although I’d be inclined to put my mug out of reach if your little one has a habit of drinking the dregs.
