  • I agree to put some coconut oil in the bath water. And a good aloe vera gel works good too !

  • Sounds like extra dry skin . Try putting some baby oil in the bath and then use a gentle baby cream to moisturise the skin such as sorbeline or lanolin etc .

  • Use a moisturising baby bubble bath, which most baby bath is anyway, and then apply a baby moisturiser. I think it’s normal for a new baby’s skin to peel though, so don’t worry too much

  • i put a couple tea spoons of coconut oil in my daughters baths, only bathe her every 3 days. and once out the bath i make she she is completely dry in all her little rolls as moisture can cause skin to split. and inbetween baths at every nappy change i put more coconut oil on her skin. seems to have improved her bodies dry skin.
i just by aa jar of coconut oil unrefiend from the supermarket.

  • Aloevera gel works great (99% from chemist not the supermarket one)

  • Also; if you are concerned check with your GP or community nurse.

  • Rub in moisturiser to keep skin nice and soft

  • i massaged all my kids with baby oil and never had the skin problems

  • For the first few weeks we added a tiny amount of baby oil to her bath. We also moisturise her after every bath with sorbelene.

  • Ordinary Sorbelene Cream is good. It is a natural without all sorts of chemicals in it. Ensure you moisturise after baby’s bath, use a non-soap product to wash/bath baby with. If you massage your baby moisturise. Don’t just rub your baby’s skin.

  • just use a gentle moisturiser. It might not stop it completely but should help a bit. It does seem to take them a little bit of time to get used to being out of the womb and exposed to the air etc so the moisturiser helps while they adjust.
