Any ideas for a 5 year old girls birthday gift? I would like it to be something special, I know she likes Barbie but I’m undecided.

  • I think a Barbie or pretty doll would be wonderful.

  • I just bought a swing set for my 6yr old.

  • A place called Identity Direct have lots of personalised gifts. You could probably find Barbie things in there. There are nice Barbies bedding packages in the shops

  • A friend’s little girl turns 5 next month and she is a girly girl. I was thinking of going to Spotlight and getting her a craft kit. I was there the other month and they have heaps! I’m sure that there will either be a jewellery kit or beading kit, loom bands or sewing.

  • Honestly if she loves barbie, there is nothing more awesome for a 5 year old than to receive barbie related stuff if not the actual toy. Buy clothes and accessories for her to play dress up with her dolls.

  • oh i see that you have picked something now

  • glad you have found something!

  • Thank you for all your suggestions, I found a Barbie set that comes with her 3 sisters they’re all very cute. Hope she will love it.

  • my daughters 5th birtday is in may she has asked for a range of things from cinderella dressups to a wubble bubble(massive ball), Baby born bath, some dress up shoes for her cinderella outfit they are like blue soft plastic princess shoes.

  • What about a barbie house or car

  • Elsa? Anything to do with Frozen is good these days.

  • You can purchase stars!! In sky. Shell get her own certificate to show her star and you name it.
A high tea birthday with cupcakes.
Lunch out with posh clothes and entree, main dessert wearing the piece of jewelry you bought her.

  • I saw in Big W the other day a toy birds cage that had a bird in it and you press the button and it tweets and when you hold the button down it copies what you say. It’s like a pet without the pain of having to feed and clean up after it :) My kids begged to get one.

  • What about some My little ponies?
Better consult with the mother indeed before buying, or you could end up with something she already has.
There are some beautiful Barbie books too. http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Abarbie%20books

  • Please don’t get stickers. So many people suggest stickers. My house is full of them. It drives me nuts.
If she loves Barbie there are special collectors edition Birthday Barbies. I know as a 5 year old I would think any Barbie was super special but I would especially think that some of the accessories like the camper van, car, pool, bed, etc, would be particularly awesome. Is this your child? If not, I would ask the mum for a list to choose from. A dollhouse or kitchen are pretty special too. If you are handy you can make one yourself.
Or a beautiful bracelet with her name on it.
