  • just steam your veggies then process with a little water. i used to do big batches with veggies like pumpkin, potato, sweetpotato ect. then freeze them using silicon ice cube tray and transfer them to freezer bags that way i could easily pull out a couple cubes at a time and even mix the veggies together and form a meal. you can even cook and process meat and chicken in a bit of water and mix in with veggie portions. just remember there is no need for any salt or sugar

  • It probably depends on what exactly you want to feed your baby. I used to set aside some mashed potatoes and a small piece of pumpkin from our tea and mix the two together making them relatively smooth, not necessarily runny, but suitable for baby. Adding peas is not a good idea ,makes a awful mess at the other end.For fruit we cooked them and reduced them down until really mushy.Really l suggest you look up on Google or go to the op shop and get an old cook book. Good luck , so happy to see someone wanting to cook for their little one instead of buying pre prepared rubbish.

  • zsteam a whole bunch of vegetables – sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, beetroot – and then mush them up with a bamix or food processor. You can have them separetely or try combining them. You can also do this for meat – add meat to the vegetables and then mush them. Thing slike chicken and sweet potato and broccoli. Try fruits too.

  • First of all I bought few trays to freeze baby food. This way you don’t need to cook everyday.
I steam some vegetable like carrots, broccoli, beetroot and purée it and put on this trays. After frozen I pack them and write what it is and when it was cooked.
When is time to feed you just need to get whatever veggie you like and put for few minutes in the microwave.
I waited few more months to start doing meet this way.
For dessert you can cook pear or Apple, purée and again freeze it.

  • Baby food was so easy as we blended our dinner with the kids and the difference is that theirs plate are mashed food. It would make things easier if you have a food processor but if not , I mashed it with a fork. So you can have mashed up, rice , pasta, vegies, ( eg potatoes , peas pumpkin ) mince , risottos etc ,,, very easy

  • Invest in a steamer and steam veges such as sweet potato and pumpkin. Gradually introduce new vegetables and tastes to check for reactions.

  • steam some veggies, meat or fruit depending on what you want. Then blend, add some water or better yet breast milk to make consistency thinner. If you want though there are heaps of recipes out there.

  • Buy yourself a Bullet.
They are amazing & you can make so many things with them!
Baby food & protein milk shakes for yourself!
Look around for a baby food book or google some recipes.
It will make your life so much easier, it’s so simple to use, you will save time & save a fortune!

  • Can’t go wrong with mashed veggies, stewed fruit, custards and cereals.

  • You can get cookbook that are just for babies first foods the ones that i really loved was by Annabel Karmel. There is cook books for all stages of babies development. I found it was worth the purchase. And at times the food was yummy enough to blend some down for bubs and the rest left our familys dinner,

  • What sort of foods were you thinking of making. at 6 months I made my son.
Chicken, potatoe, pumpkin and rice all cooked then blended.
    Apple cinnamon puree
    Mash potatoe
    Pumpkin and rice dessert
    banana puree pudding with rice.
    \Hope that helps.

  • I puree in Bulk and then freeze in ice cube trays.

  • If she is just starting off on purees start with individual foods so she can taste the different flavours. The first purees I found to be the best were apple, pear and sweet potato. I boiled the fruit and veg seperately until extremely tender (can break with back of a butter knife with little/no force). Once cooked I would drain majority of the water and let it cool right down. Blend it in a blender ( i used a cheap kmart one). Then i poured the mixture into ice trays and froze them. Once theyre frozen you can pop them out and mix up the different flavours and add water for consitency when re heating.

  • I just got a ninja blender for chrissy and I use it more for baby food than my shakes. my bub is 6 months and I just steam the vegetables (potato/pumpkin/zucchini) and blend with a bit of water. so easy! and you can freeze it to

  • I got a ninja for chrissy and its great at pureeing stuff. I steamed some veggies (pumpkin/zucchini/carrot/cauliflower) and blended. can do with fruit like apple too.
    no lumps for this age!
