If you do a bit of research , serums are an option to moisturisers and can be used alone or very very dry skin, it is used under the cream. In winter my skin gets very dry especially from wind and the cold weather. Sometimes cream alone is not enough . What I did was bought a small bottle of Rosehip oil ( currently using Trilogy ) and I apply this oil before I put on nightcream . I also do this for my neck and after a week or so , my skin was so soft and smooth and not as dry . So to answer your question , try Rosehip oil if you feel that serum is too heavy for you . Priceline stores have testers as well, so you can go for a browse and try different types and brands etc before buying .
I thought that serum was an underlayer to moisturiser and they should be used together. I am unsure if serum is a marketing ploy or a genuine extra tier to facial care.
No you need to use both, but you can get oils that will do it. I recently sent my mum some as a gift. They are a lot more expensive though, well the brand I brought was.
I use serum and moisturizer. I guess it depends on your skin type. I put the serum on and leave it for 5 minutes or so, then I use moisturizer. If you’re looking for a good skincare range, that’s not hideously expensive, is organic, and made in Australia, you can’t go past Rubifresh. My skin has never looked so good since I started using their products.
No…they are two different things and should be used together.
Moisturiser is something that helps with hydrating the skin and serums can have all different types of things such as skin boosting vitiamins and such depending on what your skin needs.
I have also posted this answer on the facebook site:
I always use the two together, serum then moisturiser. Depending on your reasons for not wanting to use moisturiser, I may even be able to help you. I am an Arbonne Independent Consultant and we have a number of moisturising products for different types of skin.
